AIMS Official 4 National Counter Terrorism Awareness Week is being launched on Monday 24th November. It aims to encourage people to be vigilant and tell them of simple steps they can take to take to make it harder for terrorists to attack us. Counter Terrorism Awareness Week 2014 We will raise counter terrorism awareness, nationally, amongst the police family, business and public, through community and business engagement, briefings, patrol activity, reviewing and testing plans.

What is CT Awareness Week? Official 5 Counter Terrorism Awareness Week 2014 During CT Awareness Week we will focus activity around five key themes where action by the police family, business and the public can deter and detect terrorism:- Crowded Places Transport Hubs Preventing Violent Extremism Terrorist Financing Tools that terrorists need to operate, e.g. weapons, firearms and products that can be made into explosives Mon 24 Nov Sat 28 Nov Sun 29 Nov Tues 25 Nov Weds 26 Nov Thurs 27 Nov Fri 28 Nov

Key Messages Official 6 Counter Terrorism Awareness Week 2014 Following the increase of the international terrorism threat to severe, there is a heightened need to ensure that the UK is in the best position to deter and detect potential terrorist threats. While the severe threat level indicates that it is highly likely that a terrorist attack could happen in the UK, there is currently no specific intelligence of a terrorist attack. Everybody, from law enforcement, to businesses, to the general public, has a role to play in keeping the UK safe from terrorism. Be vigilant. If you suspect it, report it. Nobody is better placed to detect something that is out of place in their communities than the people living in them. We encourage people to report suspicious activity by calling the confidential Anti-Terrorist Hotline on

Key Messages Official 7 Counter Terrorism Awareness Week 2014 To effectively combat the terrorism threat, law enforcement, business, government and the wider public need to work together. The public may notice an increase in patrols and activity of police, other law enforcement and security guards. Briefings and posters for each theme are available:- for police for business [a URL will be provided once this is 'live'] Social media will use #CTAW
