Stevie Genre- Realistic Fiction Point of View- First Person Author’s Purpose- Entertain This story is told in the first person point of view, by a young boy named Robert (nickname- Bobby). Robert is not used to sharing his toys, then Stevie comes to stay for awhile. By the time Stevie leaves, Robert has learned something about himself and about being a friend.

Prior Knowledge (What you already know) Think about the stories we have read in our anthology book thus far. As we read, keep in mind how Stevie is similar and/or different than the previous stories. Notice that the author added realism to the story by having the characters use “every speech”. Let’s read about the Author and Illustrator…

Clues, Problems, Wonderings Let’s browse through Stevie and look for clues about the story, problems you may have while reading the story, and wonderings you have about the story.
