Teaching Objectives After completing this lesson, students should know how to deal with an interview, including: ---how to prepare an interview; ---the interview procedure; ---how to answer questions about personal details, education and work experience; ---how to deal with inappropriate questions by the interviewer.

Part Ⅰ Warm-up Information you should know about the company prior to your interview: ★ Organizational structure of the company; ★ Divisions & departments that interest you; ★ Products & Service; ★ Sizes of the company --- number of the employees and turnover; ★ Job descriptions & Job titles; ★ Geographic location of the offices, branches, stores; ★ Company culture; ★ Sources for this information: web sites, company reports, newspapers, magazines, professional journal.

The interviewer might infer from these questions that you are only interested in your own needs and not those of their company. Wait until the interviewer raises the subject of salary to discuss it. But in which cities do you have branches? And where is your company based? It is unwise to ask about things you should have already known. You will only tell the interviewer that you haven’t done your homework.

How to succeed at interviews 1. Research the company and the job, figure out the resume. 2. Plan your journey to ensure you arrive around 10 minutes early. 3. Collect your all paperwork together--- résumé, cover letter. 4. Dress smartly and pay attention your hair. If you are a smoker, do not smoke before the interview. 5. Look confident and smile as you are greeted. Shake hands confidently but not grip too firmly. 6. Maintain good eye contact throughout the interview. Smile when there is an opportunity and be aware of your body posture. 7. Do not be dull and boring in an interview. You should ne positive and enthusiastic and convey your personality. 8. The resume should be true, brief, you can bypass the questions if you can’t answer.
