Back to School Night September 10, 2013

ESCS is committed to providing a safe learning environment for all students. ESCS staff are committed to improvement in the area of school safety for the school year. We need the ESCS community of parents and families to partner with us in the commitment to school safety.

Officers from Richmond Police Department came over the summer to assess our campus safety and provide recommendations. Officers from Richmond Police Department provided staff in- service on school safety in August. All classroom doorknobs will be changed to automatically locking knobs. All teachers and staff will wear ESCS lanyards with ID cards. All 1 st -6 th grade teachers will walk classes out to the blacktop after school for dismissal; Kindergarten teachers will walk classes to Griffin Hall. Childcare staff will wear royal blue “STAFF” shirts daily. Officers from Richmond Police Department will assist ESCS in implementation and practice of safety drills. Revison of school policies to increase safety.

We LOVE involved parents! Partnership and communication between home & school is essential for maximized student learning. We appreciate your involvement in matters that support the ESCS goals and safety.

All parents & visitors MUST check into the office and receive a Visitor’s Badge prior to going to any classroom, playground, office, or other ESCS location. Expect an ESCS staff member to ask you to check in at the office if you forget.
