Welcome to World Geography

Kelly James Texas Wesleyan University, B.S. Married with 1 child Love to travel, read, creative things

Class Rules & Consequences Class Rules 1. Treat others as YOU would like to be treated. 2. Come to class with supplies. 3. Follow all school rules and policies.

Class Rules & Consequences Consequences 1. Verbal Warning 2. Detention, Seat Change & Call to Parent 3. Referral If you are disrupting class to a point where the class, as a whole, is affected—you will received an immediate referral.

Class Expectations Be prepared—bring something to write with and on EVERYDAY! Wear your ID No food or drinks except water Do not go behind or sit at my desk. Stay Away! Your phone CAN NOT be visible and texting in your pocket or purse IS VISIBLE. You MAY NOT listen to your MP3 Player No Hall Passes—Don’t Ask! Emergencies DO NOT happen EVERYDAY. Remember! Your mere existence does not get you respect. You, like everyone else, must earn it!!!!

Class Supplies Pencil or Pen Map Colors Folder with Brads & Pockets (I have SOME for sale for.25) Paper Book (I have boxes for the extra map colors. Each class is responsible for their own— once they are gone, they’re gone)

Class Set Up Every Friday you will have a 10 question quiz. Should you fail this quiz-tutorials will be assigned. This allows both you and I to catch issues before it gets too late! You have 2 opportunities for extra credit each six weeks. One is an assignment based grade. The second is if you bring (1) of the following: map colors or Kleenex. If you have zeros, per policy, you CAN NOT do extra credit!

World Geography We will cover the physical, cultural and political geography of the world. Much of what we do is interactive and enjoyable to students. However, if your class is not able to work together to do these activities we will do book work and the enjoyment factor will be removed!

Getting Along with Mrs. James I am really sarcastic. If you are unsure of how to take something I say—PLEASE ask! Do not talk while others are talking. If I asked you to stop, DO NOT give me a list of what others are doing. STOP YOUR BEHAVIOR. Show character & integrity in your actions. Be honest! I will be honest with you. I want you to do well-- that is much easier to do if YOU want to do well in this class!!!
