Unit 1 good friends The first period

Teaching aims  1 learn and master the following  Words :honest, brave, loyal,wise,mirror  Phrase : be fond of  Sentence pattern: what’s…like ?  2 Train the students listening ability  3 Improve the students speaking ability by describing talking and discussing

Teaching important points  1 Train the students listening ability  2 Master the new phrase and sentence pattern and make the students be free to talk about their name ages hobbies and so on

Teaching difficult points  1 How to improve the students listening ability.  2 How to finish the task of speaking.  3 How to master the sentence pattern.

Teaching methods  1 listening and answering activity to help the students go through with the listening material.  2 Individual pair or group work to make every student work in class.

Teaching aids  1 a tape recorder  2 a computer  3 the blackboard

Teaching procedures  Step1 greetings and leading in  Step2 warming up  1 New words  1honest :adj,not likely to lie steal or cheat  A good friend should be honest.  He is an honest man.  To be honest : to tell the truth  To be honest I do not like her new hairdo.

 Honesty is its derivative  Honesty is our traditional virtue.  2 mirror n  Life is a mirror.  Mirror is very useful for us.

3 Sentence pattern  (1) What is your new foreign teacher like?  She is beautiful and lively.  (2) What is your room like ?  Its tidy and clean.  (3) What is the weather like ?  It is cloudy.

Step3 listening  Now please turn to page 2.let’s do some listening. You are going to hear tow friends arguing. What are they arguing about? how to solve the problems? It needs your listening carefully. Write down what you hear. At last l will check the answers with the whole class.

Step 4 speaking  Now look at the part speaking on page 2.you are given four minutes to read the following self-introduction. After that fill in the following form.

Step 5 language study  Be fond of +n  +v-ing  I am fond of classical music.  He is fond of swimming in winter.

Step 6 summary and homework  In this class we have learnt some new words and a sentence pattern and some phrases. We have also done some listening and speaking. After class practice the sentence pattern and master it. Then do exercise2 on page86. finally do not forget to preview the material chucks friend.  Ok time is up. Bye.
