INDICATORS INVOLVING P20 DATA (b)(1)State’s statewide longitudinal data system includes: 3. student-level information about the points at which student exit, transfer in, transfer out, drop out, or complete P-16 education programs. 4. capacity to communicate with higher education data systems. 11. information regarding the extent to which students transition successfully from secondary school to postsecondary education, including whether students enroll in remedial coursework. 12. other information determined necessary to address alignment and adequate preparation for success in postsecondary education. (c)(11) Of the students who graduate from high school, the number and percentage who enroll in an IHE within 16 months of receiving a high school diploma. (c)(12) Of the students who graduate from high school who enroll in a public IHE in the State within 16 months of receiving a high school diploma, the number and percentage who complete at least one year’s worth of college credit (applicable to a degree) within 2 years.

WISCONSIN Where is your state with accomplishing these? Good news is the requirements align with LDS projects completed, in progress or planned NSC data considered a critical component – work started early in 2010 to purchase, model and merge this data set into the data warehouse P20 Advanced Postsecondary Infrastructure Project (LDS grant) will result in significant upgrades to the technical environment and capabilities in Wisconsin and enable the exchange of additional data – c(12) What are some specific challenges you’re facing and how are you addressing them? Building a shared P20 ownership with IHE Hiring and retaining good people (contract or project positions) How has addressing these requirements changed the conversation in your state? Huge shift – discussions ended and decisions were made regarding a number of key elements

All ARRA post-secondary requirements are met – in-state-students only Working with NCS for out-of-state students What are some specific challenges you’re facing and how are you addressing them? Out-of-state students HE data quality Legislation passed giving CDE justification for collecting data at the K-12 level How has addressing these requirements changed the conversation in your state? P20 is viewed as a joint effort. What makes quality metrics? AP courses / Remediation rates
