Colonel Douglas H. Gunter History Award - $ Awarded to graduate entering university studies (preference given to students enrolled in a history degree program). Each student must submit an original work based on a predetermined topic using one of the following media: text, visual art, web design, audio or video program. Application available online at: douglas-h-gunter-award/ Early March. Currie Undergraduate Scholarship- $ (1st year) – Awarded to graduates beginning an undergraduate degree program at UNB. Applicants are asked to submit an essay giving the Selection Committee an indication of their leadership capabilities to date, including school and extra-curricular activities. Application available online at: Early March.

Harrison McCain Scholarship - $ over 4 years. Awarded to graduates with 80% + first term-grade 12 and planning to attend an Atlantic university. Financial need and leadership qualities considered. Information available on university website. Early March. Madelon Rolston-Moran Scholarship - $300 – Awarded to a female student pursuing studies in a business program. NBASAA- Awarded to a graduate, who has attended a NBASAA Provincial Leadership Conference, been actively involved in student activities and has a financial need. Barkers Point Lions Club Bursary- $500 (2)- Awarded to a graduate planning to continue post-secondary education immediately following graduation. You do not need to live in Barker’s Point. Bell Aliant Pioneers of NB Foundation Scholarship -$2000 – Awarded to graduating NB students who are handicapped or to students enrolled in a post-secondary education program which will lead to working with people with handicaps. Fred Ross Scholarship For Fine Arts - $4000 – For a student pursuing post-secondary studies in fine arts or fine craft studies. Candidates must submit up to (no more than) five paintings or drawings, a short essay as to why a career in fine arts is sought and a resume containing a SIN number. Credit Counselling Services of Atlantic Canada, Inc. Essay Contest Scholarship - $ Awarded to graduates entering an institution of postsecondary education. A 500-word essay is to be submitted. Garfield Weston Merit Scholarship – Varied amount – National, $4000 – Regional, $2500 – Provincial. Awarded to graduates who demonstrate leadership potential and are active in school and community activities. Minimum grade of 75% in courses that are required for entry into their anticipated course of college study. Be a Canadian citizen and in final year of high school. Reginald K. Groome Memorial Scholarship - $ Awarded to graduates who have demonstrated a scouting history, involvement and achievement, leadership contribution to scouting and scholastic achievement. Rotary Youth Merit Awards - $1000, $500 (2) - Awarded to graduates with involvement in these five areas: scholastic achievements, community service, co-curricular activities, extra - curricular activities, and home involvement. Thelma Sewell Memorial Scholarship (in co-operation with the NB Home Economics Association) - $ Awarded to a graduate who has applied to a Bachelor’s degree program in Home Economics in any province and has achieved good results in a variety of high school subjects.
