Stimulants

Alcohol Any product intended for human consumption that contains more than 0.5% of ethyl alcohol in it is considered as an alcoholic. Drinks can be divided according to the alcohol content, and their composition.

Consequences of alcohol use: A person who frequently drinks alcohol may experience problems with memory and coordination. Alcoholism (alcohol dependence) lowers blood glucose levels, Increases severity of atherosclerosis, increases risk of heart attack.

How to treat alcoholism Treating alcohol dependence consists in two things: the impact of psychotherapy pharmacological treatment

Drugs Those are substances which, with a regular intake, lead to physical and psychological dependence. All psychotropic substances are currently illegal in many countries.

Effects of drugs on the body Sudden changes in mood Revolt, aggression, tantrums Constant lying A sudden change of friends Excessive appetite, or lack of changes in the external appearance Weight loss Memory impairment Bloodshot eyes, narrowed or dilated pupils

How to deal with drugs Treatment consists of three stages. The first stage is the detoxification of the body which is a prelude to further treatment. Second stage requires intensive medical care, because acute intoxication poses a direct threat to life of the addicted person. Third phase involves the removal of unabsorbed substances from the body.

Coffee Coffee - a beverage made from roasted and ground coffee tree beans, usually served hot. Originally from Ethiopia, it appeared in Europe around the sixteenth century. It is one of most popular drugs in the world, and a major source of caffeine. Refreshing and stimulating effect of a coffee speeds up metabolism and increases the efficiency of thinking. Production on coffee is about 6.7 million tonnes per year. Drinking coffee in large quantities is harmful to our health.

Consequences of coffe use: Consumption of too much coffee can cause a feeling of nervousness, anxiety and irritability (so-called frustration caffein) Consumption of large amounts of coffee may increase the likelihood of heart problems It slightly reduces fertility in both men and women Boiled coffee can greatly affect the increase of cholesterol levels.

How to treat coffee addiction Most researchers recommend consumption of up to 500 mg of caffeine per day which is about 4 cups of coffee. You can drink decaffeinated coffee which is much more beneficial to health Coffee is seen as stimulant - when it’s harmful to our health then the consumption of it should reduced, or even stopped. We can replace it by other beverages.

Tobacco Tobacco - the type of herbaceous plants of the nightshade family. The genus name comes from the turns. It was called "Tütün" in Old Polish, and "tytu ń ” locally in some parts of this country. 67 kinds of tobacco come from both Americas and Australia. Currently, there it also cultivated in many other parts of the world. Plants are annual, biennial, perennial or shrub.

Effects of drugs on the body Cardiovascular Diseases - ischemic heart disease, myocardial infarction, atherosclerotic occlusive disease of the Respiratory System - emphysema, chronic bronchitis, lung cancer, cancer of the tongue, laryngeal cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

How to stop smoking? Strong non-smoking will Reduce the number of smoked cigarettes Use of pharmaceutical aids Increased physical movement Proper diet Consultation with physician Psychotherapy

Tea Tea - herbal tea brewed from the leaves and buds of the tea plant. Plants are grown in many countries of the tropical zone, and outside Asia. Only buds and leaves are picked, which after further preparation (drying, fermentation) cooks up a brew There are the following most popular types of tea: Green tea – tea leaves are not subjected to the process of fermentation. White tea - tea from the young buds, which have not yet had time to flourish. Yellow tea - the production process is initially similar to white tea, but it allows longer drying.

Consequences of tea use: Studies also show the negative effects of drinking tea, involving mainly the high content of harmful fluorine (up to 9mg / l, which gives three times more than normal dose and puts tea drinkers in a dangerous situation), and aluminum in fermented tea. Theine, also called caffeine, may have negative effects on some people, because it weakens the memory and can lead to tooth decay and yellowish teeth.

What to do? Abrupt withdrawal of tea consumption, even in the average amount can cause depression, anxiety, fatigue, increased thirst, headaches and increased adoption of painkillers. If a person wants to stop drinking tea it is recommended to start drinking less, and then to stop for good. Tea should be replaced with other fluids.

Boosters Boosters - used in Poland, the common name for various kinds of products that contain psychoactive substances that are not on the list of resources controlled by the law on counteracting drug addiction. People consume boosters because they have similar effects as drugs.

Effects of boosters on the body: Addiction does have many side effects. Boosters can cause, inter alia abdominal pains, nausea, vomiting, headaches, dizziness, palpitations, insomnia, malaise, anxiety, convulsions.
