Violent Crime in Bournemouth What do we know about the problems? What’s already being done to address the issues? What are the causes of violence? What more could we do?

Alcohol related Around 45% of assault with injury crimes are alcohol related Around 25% of all assaults with injury in Bournemouth take place within Town Centre night-time economy

Between 9.00pm – 6.00am Peak is Sunday morning at around 2.00am Concentrated between Horshoe Common & Lansdowne

Violence in Boscombe “The individuals involved in these two cases are believed to be associated with previous criminal activity.”

Domestic Abuse in Bournemouth Around 38% of assault with injury crimes reported to the Police are domestic related 29% of all serious sexual offences are domestic related “between those aged 16 or over who are, or have been, intimate partners or family members regardless of gender or sexuality”

So what are we doing to address the issues? Tackling domestic and sexual abuse Improving the night-time economy

Domestic Abuse Abuse not just violence ”Any incident or pattern of incidents of controlling coercive or threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between those aged 16 or over who are or have been intimate partners or family members regardless of gender or sexuality.
