Who were the Red coats? They were British soldiers. They would fight colonists to get more land. They were part of a lot of battles and wars. They were the best army in the world.

Who were the Patriots ? They were men fighting against the British soldiers for land and Independence. Some were minutemen, militia, and some were just citizens fighting. The minutemen were men who were ready to fight in a minutes notice. Militia were men who were untrained not professional.

There were at least 4 battles. Battle of Bunker Hill. The French and Indian war. Battle of Quebec. Battle of Lexington and Concord.

It started in December That was when the colonist were mad about being taxed on the tea. Next they would dress up as Mohawks. They dumped 45 tons of tea in the Boston harbor. This action caused many more colonists to do the same.

The Boston Massacre started in March 5, That was when Boston exploded. Some of the British soldiers fired at the colonists. The colonist wrote a propaganda about the British and how dangerous they were.

The name the Americans gave to a series of British imposed restrictions that came in the wake of the Boston Tea Party. You were either a Patriot someone who opposed the British or Loyalist.

Pontiac’s Rebellion The British colonists would move over to the Native American’s land. Then Pontiac sent several Native Americans to stop them.

The British needed to raise money and a man named Charles Townshend was going to raise money from the colonies. The Townshend Acts was a new set of taxes. They would tax everything like paint, glass, lead, and tea.

A Declaration was written because the colonist wanted to be free from the British ruling. It took two weeks for Thomas Jefferson to write and rewrite the declaration. The day that the Declaration was signed was on July 4,1776.

The Stamp Act was when everybody had to put a stamp on printed paper to buy, sell,or use anything. British used stamps to raise money for Britain after the French and Indian war. The reason for the Stamp Act was because Great Britain were running out of money and in debt. This happened after the French and Indian war.

The Battle of Bunker Hill started on the night of June 16, In that battle more British died than American soldiers. The British launched several attacks but failed, and the Patriots held them back. The battle took place on two hills, the Bunker hill and Breed’s hill, mainly on Breed’s hill. The Americans lost the battle but were proud because they had held back the greatest army in the world.

The Battles of Lexington and Concord. The Battle of Lexington and Concord was in Some British spies saw that Minutemen were collecting weapons and putting them in Concord. There were only 60 Minutemen fighting 250 trained British soldiers.

The French and Indian war was all about gaining land. Then the Iroquois started trading fur with the French. At that time George Washington was sent to try to challenge the French. After that George Washington gained valuable experience as a leader.

Americans won the war. The colonies signed the Declaration of Independence, and won the war against the British. It ended August 2 nd and the colonies were free and independent.
