“We will be a leading centre in healthcare, driven by excellence in patient experience, research, teaching and education.” Ensuring safe, sustainable care and services Mid Staffs Trust not clinically or financially sustainable - to be dissolved on order of Secretary of State On 1st November 2014 all Mid Staffs staff will transfer to UHNS or Wolverhampton & management of Stafford Hospital will transfer to UHNS Will create one Trust across two hospitals of equal importance Most services will continue at Stafford Hospital & new services will be developed in line with TSAs’ clinical model, approved by Monitor Nine out of 10 patients will continue to receive care at Stafford Changes will not adversely affect our existing patients - capacity will be in place at Stoke-on-Trent to meet additional demand Service changes benchmarked against Health Equality Impact Assessment

Inpatient acute & major surgery, consultant led obstetrics & inpatient gynaecology will transfer once additional critical care capacity in place & refurbishment of Lyme Building completed Inpatient paediatrics will transfer once additional wards available to enable Ward 218 at Stoke-on-Trent to become part of Children’s Centre Midwife Led Unit, ante/postnatal services, paediatric assessment & surgical daycases will continue at Stafford Any move of obstetric services on safety grounds will be temporary pending outcome of review into these services by NHS England
