Coalition of Cambodia Apparel Workers Democratic Union C.CAWDU is an independent garment federation in Cambodia, established in December 31, Currently we have 51unions at plant level with more than membership in more 400 garments factories within workers mostly young women migrant from many differences in Cambodia and most of them are illiteracy and lack of awareness about labor right and unionism.

General problem relevant to OSH issue Small side of garment factory with bad environment ( sweatshop ) Lack of proper inspection and investigation of ministry of labor and recommendation on OSH issue Workers had limited awareness on OSH issue and how to get prevent accident at the workers place and compensation

Employer tend to ignore OSH issue Lack of responsibility from employer on labor accident at working place No diagnosis system for labor accident ( working disease ) -No proper and efficient personal protection equipment at the work place -Poverty and low wage

Worker accident case This woman worker is working in ironing section she got burn her lag by steam machine in her working place and she got compensation only for hospitalizing.

What C.CAWDU has been doing settle OSH issue Factory level negotiation - Experiences from the fortune factory on OSH issue - In the washing section made a lot of dust and those dust go to toilet. The union demand to the company to change the way dust not to go toilet because make workers has pollution and company agreed

In wear house section is very hot because lack of fan this section and union demand put more fan in this section and the company agreed
