By 2025, ASEAN will be a quality tourism destination offering a unique, diverse ASEAN experience, and will be committed to responsible, sustainable inclusive and balance tourism development, so as to contribute significantly to the socio-economic well-being of ASEAN people 6

Tourism Product Development (1) Nature-based tourism product: Development of the ASEAN Ecotourism Strategic Plan Cultural and heritage tourism: completion of the Project titled “ASEAN Culture & Heritage Tourism Product Development ASEAN Member States” Community Based Tourism Health and Wellness – Recreation: golf, cycling, running, diving, water rafting

Tourism Product Development (2) Implementation of the ASEAN Cruise Work Plan 2014 covering promoting ASEAN at cruise shows, organising FAM trips for cruise-line executives, and promotional activities, such as distribution of ASEAN Tourism collaterals Completion of Project to River-Based Tourism Development in ASEAN in collaboration with UNWTO

Development of ASEAN Tourism Standards The completion of guidelines for certification process and certification bodies for following tourism standards: – Green hotel, – Homestay, – Spa services, – Public toilet, – Clean tourist city, and – Community Based Tourism Main principle: certification of ASEAN Tourism Standards would be carried out by respective ASEAN Member States based on approved guideline

Progress Implementation of MRA on Tourism Professionals Submissions of Diplomatic Notes on the Establishment of TPCB and NTPB made by Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam All Member States have established their respective National Tourism Professionals Board (NTPB) and Tourism Professionals Certification Board (TPCB)

Background of MRA on Tourism Professionals Some Member States have difficulties in fulfilling available job opportunities for low-mid level position Mobility of tourism professionals is already in existence There is no common standards for those tourism professionals Tourism professionals still require training in the workplace

Recognition and Eligibility The qualification of a Foreign Tourism Professional may be recognised by other ASEAN Member States, and if such qualification is recognised, he/she may be eligible to work in a host country provided that he/she possesses a valid tourism competency certificate in a specific tourism job title as specified in the ACCSTP, issued by the TPCB in an ASEAN Member State. The eligibility to work in a host country will be subjected to prevailing domestic laws and regulations of the host country.

ASEAN Single Aviation Market – 13 th ASEAN Summit on 20 Nov 2007 in Singapore endorsed the initiative to establish an ASEAN Single Aviation Market (ASAM) by 2015 in support of the development of the ASEAN Economic Community – 16 th ASEAN Transport Ministers’ Meeting (ATM) on 11 Nov 2010 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, adopted the Brunei Action Plan wherein one of the goals for the air transport sector is to establish an ASAM by 2015; one of the key actions to achieve this goal is to formulate ASAM Roadmap and implementation strategy by 2011 – 17 th ATM on 16 Dec 2011 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, issued a declaration on the adoption of the implementation framework of the ASAM, with roadmaps for economic and technical elements towards 2015 and beyond
