2. Check the consistency of the wax before testing it on yourself. Remember, if the wax is allowed to overheat, it will become runny and will give off fumes. If the wax is the correct consistency, test the wax on the inside of your wrist.

7. Grip the bottom edge of the strip with the fingers and pull the strip away very quickly against the direction of hair growth. Stretch and support the skin with the other hand. The strip should always be removed parallel to the skin. The same strip can be used again until it becomes thick with wax and does not remove the hair. It can be disposed of by folding the wax sides together and placing in a suitable container away from the client.

2. Apply the wax against the direction of hair growth, following the growth pattern. It should be applied thickly, building up one or two layers quickly. Press onto the skin as it cools to increase its attachment to the hairs.

Remove the wax using a long, quick movement. Odd hairs can be tweezed but larger areas of remaining hair will require further application.
