Once upon a time, in a kitchen far far away, lived a little spoon. Now this spoon was not just any ordinary spoon. He could dip, scoop, scrape, and was far shinier and smoother than all the other spoons.

But this spoon had a problem. He didn’t want to be shiny and smooth. He didn’t want to dip, scoop, and scrape. He wanted to cut, just like Knife! ​ Spoon sat at the dinner table, watching knife cut through steak, and butter the corn. Spoon was jealous.

Later Spoon was put in the sink, where he saw Fork. ​“Hey Fork!” said Spoon. ​“Yeah, Spoon, what’s up?” Fork replied. ​“Do you like picking up food?” Spoon asked. “Yeah, it’s alright. But I wish people wouldn’t use me to cut food when they’re too lazy to use a knife.” Fork answered. “I wish I could cut.” Spoon replied. “What!? Spoon! You aren’t made for that!” Fork explained. “Says who?” Spoon asked. “Says the factory that built you. You were made for dipping, scooping, and scraping.” Fork told Spoon.

“But I want to cut food! Just for once!” Spoon cried. “Well you just aren’t sharp enough. You’re too smooth.” Fork tried to tell Spoon. “Well how do I get sharp?” Spoon asked.

“Didn’t we just buy new dishwasher detergent?” Fork questioned. “Yeah.” Spoon replied. “Wasn’t his name, SHARP?” Fork asked. “Yeah, he’s this new snarky guy.” Spoon stated. “Well maybe if you borrow some of his detergent, it will make you sharp!” Fork mentioned. “That’s a great idea! But how do I get down into the cabinet?” Spoon asked.

“Listen, lean against that bowl. On 3, I’ll jump, and fling you across the sink, and through that small crack in the cabinet.” Fork told Spoon. “Are you sure this will work?” Spoon asked. “Has a fork ever let you down?” Fork reminded Spoon. “Well…” Spoon said nervously.

“Ok!” Fork shouted! “On 3! 1…2…3!!!”

“WHAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!” Spoon yelled as he flew across the sink, and into the cabinet.

WHAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!”

Spoon sat and wondered what would happen next. Suddenly a voice came across the dark cabinet. “Hello? Is anyone there?” The mysterious voice called out. “Umm, hi. My name is Spoon, I was looking for a guy named SHARP?” Spoon wondered where the voice was coming from, since it was so dark. “Yeah, yeah. I know the guy.” The voice replied. “Really!? You know where I can find him?” Spoon asked.

Suddenly a light came on. “Yeah it’s me.” The voice answered. Spoon looked up, and saw a big bottle of red detergent. His logo said SHARP, and he was as bright as a fresh apple. “Yes, Sir, I was told you might have something that would help me.” Spoon told SHARP. “Maybe, what do you need?” SHARP asked.

“I was hoping to borrow some of your detergent.” “My detergent!” ​“Yeah.” ​“Listen kid, I like your ambition and all, but I don’t give out my detergent to just anyone.” ​“But I traveled so far to get here, and it would mean the world to me!” ​“I just save it for only special occasions, I’m going to need you to prove yourself before I just hand it over.” ​“Well. What can I do to “prove” myself?”

“Listen kid, here’s what I’ll do. I’ll give you some detergent if you can scoop up the cheese on mousetrap without being caught.” “Well, if that’s what I takes, that’s what I’ll do.”

Spoon walked off, on his hunt to find cheese. After walking across the cabinet, he found mousetrap. His spring was pulled back. Just a slightly wrong movement, and SNAP. Slowly Spoon approached the mousetrap, full of fear of being caught, but full of courage wanting to get that cheese. He tiptoed over, and looked right at the small plate with cheese on top. There it was, just laying on top. Spoon was used to scooping, so he thought this shouldn’t be too hard. He had done tons of scooping all his life.

Quickly Spoon scooped up the cheese, just barely missing the mousetrap. All the years of scooping had come in handy.

Spoon walked back to detergent proudly. Spoon showed SHARP that he was able to get the task done. Sharp cried, “How did you do it!?”

Spoon replied, “It was simple. I just scooped and dove.” “Wow! I would have never been able to do that!” “Yeah, I’ve scooped hundreds of times before, so it’s easy for a guy like me.” “Well I’d never be able to scoop like you do. I’m just a bottle.”

SHARP was amazed that Spoon was able to retrieve the cheese. He handed over the detergent right away. Spoon asked how he was going to be able to get into the dishwasher. SHARP said there's a pipe in the corner that leads to the dishwasher. Spoon said goodbye to SHARP, then went off on his way.

Spoon approached the narrow pipe, ready to enter that dishwasher, get sharpened, and begin to cut. Spoon entered the long, dark, narrow tunnel. Suddenly he noticed a cry for help coming from the tunnel. “Hello? Is anyone there?” The voice cried.
