Our Cause More than 4 million babies were born last year, and the March of Dimes helped each and every one through research, education, vaccines and breakthroughs.

Our Mission Fund Research to understand problems & discover answers leading to prevention & treatment. To improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality Help Moms have full-term pregnancies & healthy babies. Support Families providing comfort when their baby needs help to survive and thrive.

Local Challenges / Statistics In an average week in California: 10,135…..babies are born 1,038…..babies are born prematurely 688…..babies are born at low birth weight 57…..babies die before their first birthday Birth defects account for about 1 in 4 infant deaths in California 1 in 30 babies in California are born to a mother who received late or no prenatal care at all.
