Miss Skaff’s Class Teaching PDHPE in Primary Schools Teaching PDHPE in Primary Schools is an important aspect of the school curriculum. It aims to promote a healthier lifestyle through physical, social, emotional growth and development patterns. 1

PDHPE allows students to build confidence, develop skills and build and maintain a healthier active lifestyle. 2

There are 8 strands that contribute to the subject matter: 1. Gymnastics 2. Dance 3. Active lifestyle 4. Safe living 5. Personal health choices 6. Personal relationships 7. Games and sports 8. Growth and development There are 5 skill outcomes in the PDHPE syllabus: 1. Decision-making 2. Communicating 3. Moving 4. Interacting 5. Problem-solving 3
