Write On! Use proper punctuation. Identify the author if not widely known. Link it to the topic. Make sure the Quote supports the reason.

What is a transition/explanation? Quotes as Supporting Details What is a transition/explanation? A transition (or transitional expression) is defined as: A word or phrase that shows how the meaning of one sentence (explanation) is related to the meaning of the preceding sentence (quote). An explanation is simply rephrasing the quote in your own words. The transition/explanation is the sentence immediately after the quote that begins with a transition and has the quote rephrased/explained in your own words. Write On!
