 Recognizing advantages of legible handwriting  Identifying basic criteria for legible handwriting  Involving Ss in handwriting activities  Improving poor handwriting  Identifying causes of common errors in handwriting and avoiding them.

 1. visualization: using flashcards  2. analysis; showing proper strokes  3. practice: Ss copy on board  4. evaluation: checking quality of handwriting, spaces, size, slants  5. correction: giving correct model and setting remedial classes

 Proper sitting include:  - correct height of chairs  - sitting straight  - flat feet on floor  - no bending  - desk clear of other materials  - holding pen loosely

 - teach capital before small  - drill the distinction between capital & small  - teach manuscript before cursive  - compare between print and cursive p. 172  - use tracing activities  - give accurate models on board  - use handouts p. 173  - discuss criteria for good handwriting:  Spacing- size – alignment- slant- quality- directionality
