CD Envelope an idea inspired by Joanne Buchs There are six pages in this document: The first three are for the front cover of the CD. The last three pages are for the back cover of the CD. In each case, this is a summary of the three pages: Page 1 -the template for cutting and scoring the pattern Page 2 -the template to be used on the computer to fill in the appropriate places for the outside title, backside contact information, and the inside greeting of the CD envelope Page 3 -a duplicate of the first page with LOTS of explanation Have fun! Esther Bustamante Jacobson (505) , Cell (520) (I live in Glorieta, NM, but my cell phone has a Tucson area code so my family and Tucson downline and customers can call me without incurring long distance charges.) 8/1/03

= cut line = score line CD Envelope Pattern: Outside of CD Envelope 5-1/8”3-3/8” 2-6/8” across the full width of the bottom ¼” 5-5/8” from the let edge of the card stock to the vertical score line. 5-3/8” from the vertical score line to the right edge of the card stock. NOTE: The measurements are correct, but this pattern is not drawn to scale.

The title of the CD is centered on the front cover. Information is upside down so it will print right side up in the finished product. Here you may want to type in your contact information such as Name address Your Website URL Phone number, City, State

The title of the CD is centered on the front cover. Your demo information is centered on the lower back cover. Words need to be upside down so they’ll print right side up on the finished product. = cut line = score line CD Envelope Pattern: Outside of CD Envelope These words are upside down because this flap will be folded backward (upward). (a) INSTRUCTIONS: (Note these instructions may look complicated, but they really are super easy to follow.) After printing your text, use a pencil, ruler, paper cutter, and bone folder to prepare your CD envelope. Whether you stamp your envelope before or after assembling it really depends on your design. Instructions continue on the right with a) and b). 5-1/8” ON THE OUTSIDE: a) Notice that the vertical score line divides the front of the envelope with the title on the right and the demo information on the left (back cover of the envelope). The right title side is 5-3/8” wide vs. the left back cover side, which is 5-5/8” wide. Measure your card stock and score on the vertical line. b) The envelope is 5-1/8” in height. Measure and cut and score on the horizontal line. Instructions continue on the backside of this sheet. 3-3/8” 2-6/8” across the full width of the bottom (b) ¼” 5-5/8” from the let edge of the card stock to the vertical score line. 5-3/8” from the vertical score line to the right edge of the card stock. NOTE: The measurements are correct, but this pattern is not drawn to scale.

CD Envelope Pattern: Inside of CD Envelope = cut line = score line 5-5/8” from the vertical score line to the right edge of the card stock. 2-6/8” across the full width of the bottom 3-3/8” 5-1/8” ¼” 5-3/8” from left edge of the card stock to the vertical score line. NOTE: The measurements are correct, but this pattern is not drawn to scale.

Happy Birthday! Congratulations! Miss You! Type whatever greeting you’d like! you may want to choose a font from the Stampin’ Up!® CD - Write Me a Memory Journaling Fonts. * * * * * * * * * This CD is especially for you! This Is Too Much Fun!

CD Envelope Pattern: Inside of CD Envelope = cut line = score line (e) 5-5/8” from the vertical score line to the right edge of the card stock. (i) Fold this flap up on the score line. (d) Fold this front cover to the right. 2-6/8” across the full width of the bottom 3-3/8” 5-1/8” (c) (f) (h) (g) ¼” (j) (g) (j) 5-3/8” from left edge of the card stock to the vertical score line. This is the pattern for a CD envelope, an idea inspired by Joanne Buchs. I modified the design and created the PowerPoint template, ebjCDEnvie4U.ppt, to enter the computer-generated information. This document is on my “holding web site”: Esther Bustamante Jacobson (505) , Glorieta, Steps a) – b) on the backside of this sheet. THEN ON THE INSIDE: c)From the right bottom corner, mark 2-6/8”. d)Fold the front title cover toward the right. e)Cut on the solid diagonal line to the 2-6/8” mark. Pay attention! It’s easy to make the mistake and cut to the corner instead. However, the envelope will still work if you do. f)Cut the ¼” margin off starting at the top right corner of the card stock down to the horizontal score (fold) line. g)Score the remaining ¼” margin just right of the flap. h)Cut the ¼” fold line, thereby snipping off the ¼” margin. i)Fold the flap up. j)Fold the ¼” margin under (on the right of the flap) and glue to the envelope. The following is optional: With the CD envelope closed, mark where to punch 1/8” holes. Punch corresponding holes in the top and bottom covers. You may want to add eyelets. Add a brad or tie a ribbon to close the envelope. Voil ! You’re done! NOTE: The measurements are correct, but this pattern is not drawn to scale.
