PEMDAS Flipbook

PEMDAS – Order of Operations Flipbook Students create a flipbook by folding 4 pieces of paper in a stair step fashion. They write the title: “Order of Operations – PEMDAS” on the first flap. They write each of the individual steps on the rest of the flaps. Students illustrate and / or write in their own words what this mathematical practice means and show its application in an example inside the flap.

Step 1: Lay out the paper Students create a flipbook by folding 7 pieces of paper in a stair step fashion.

Step 3: Label the Top Write the title: “Order of Operations – PEMDAS” on the first flap.

Step 4: Label the Six Steps Write each of the individual steps on the rest of the flaps. Parenthesis Exponents Multiple & Divide Addition & Subtraction

Step 5: Describe the Operation Illustrate and/or write in your own words what this operation means and show its application in an example inside the flap.

Step 6 – Decorate & Staple
