Service Learning Project Kelsey Dunn
What did we do? Held a fundraiser to help high school kids in Valdosta/Lowndes county to go to a week long camp during the summer. The kids sold $5 tickets to their friends and family to get an all you can eat pancake and sausage breakfast. All the money from the tickets the kids sold went straight toward their payment for the trip.

What is YoungLife? An organization comprised of adults who make it a priority to help kids meets Jesus. These adults reach out to the kids; building relationships with them by going where they are. We go to their turf; their comfort zone. All kids are targeted to being reached out to. It doesn’t take a group of people to be YoungLife leaders. It only takes one adult willing to reach out to an adolescent to tell him/her about the love of Jesus.

We had specific teams during our fundraiser. For a little while I was outside holding signs by the road to try and attract people to support our cause. Who could pass up $5 all you can eat pancakes and sausage, right?
Though we were really busy, we found time to goof off and have fun! Our cooks got creative and made a Mickey Mouse pancake!
We were well prepared with lots of batter and cooking spray! Everywhere you looked you saw either a YoungLife shirt, and in this occation you saw a hat as well!
It may have been hot outside, but we had a blast seeing the cars pile into the parking lot!
