Why is Game Night Important? Game night is family time Parents and children get to have fun Parents and children interact

What do Children Achieve? Children learn how to participate in a family activity Children learn to take turns and share Children learn to play fair Children learn strategies and skills Children learn how to compete in a risk free environment Children build good self-esteem

What do Parents Achieve? Parents spend uninterrupted time with children Parents allow themselves to have fun Parents model game learning strategies Parents show how to play fair Parents and children have good conversation Parents see their children in a happy environment

How to Prepare for Game Night? Plan ahead, do not do this last minute Make this part of your weekly plan Have a good attitude Get the whole family involved Talk about it and build the enthusiasm for the event Celebrate and have fun. It is a win- win situation for the whole family

How to Prepare? Make sure you choose games that are appropriate for your child’s age Possible games are: Memory, Old Maid, Go Fish, Monopoly, Trivia, Tic Tac Toe, Boggle, Scrabble, Hi Ho Cherrio, Concentration, Operation, and Candy Land Let the children take part in choosing Set the time and date each week for the same time Make sure that there are no interruptions Teach children ground rules “play fair” Tell children no complaining allowed
