Student Financial Aid by Campus Approximately 69% of IU students received financial aid in Financial aid includes loans for students and their parents, gift aid, and work study. Gift aid does not need to be earned (like work study) or repaid (like loans). Gift aid examples include scholarships, grants to help students with financial need, fee remissions for IU employees, and federal veterans benefits designated for tuition and fees. Financial aid is funded from federal, state, IU, and private sources.
