Service Learning is the development of character and leadership through servicing one’s local community.
Helping your community The feeling of knowing you helped someone else in need. The skills you obtain through service learning will be useful in all that you do.
I helped build a house for the Habitat for Humanity. I helped erect the outer and inner walls. I helped with Meet the Blazers at my university. The local kids had a field day with the football team. The summer before my freshman year of college I helped coach at my local youth football camp
It is such a great feeling when you help someone else. I especially love working with little kids. I have helped with kids’ summer camps since I was in middle school. They look up to you and just love getting to spend time with you. When you play with them, it makes their day.
