Lost and Found Lawyers- The people who “knew” God had taken away the key (Luke 11:52) Pharisees bent it out of shape so it wouldn’t do its work (Mark 7:8) But Jesus came and put it back to its true shape just as scriptures said he would (Isaiah 42:21) Satan today has hiding this key from the church today

Paul’s message Paul sought to persuade his hearers concerning Jesus both out of the prophets & the law (Acts 28:23)

The Prophets Fulfilled scriptures proves the inspiration of scripture (Books like Isaiah, Ezekiel, Joel or Matthew 24) Speaks to the intellect of the sinner Produces faith in the Word of God.

The Law - The Law is good if we use it lawfully (1 Timothy 1:8) - The law was not made for a righteous person but for sinners (1 Timothy 1:9-10) - Paul wrote that he had not known sin, but by the law (Romans 7:7) - Speaks the conscience of a sinner - Brings knowledge of sin to a sinners heart, The law is the God given key to open the door of salvation - The law of God is what actually converts the soul (Psalms 19:7)

Telling someone what they’ve done wrong precisely will make the good news not offensive and foolishness The same way the preaching of the cross is foolishness to sinners (1 Corinthians 1:18) Explain people their sin than they will be convicted (James 2:9) The good news will not be offensive, but it will be “the power of God unto salvation.” (Romans 1:16)

Function of the Law To shut every mouth (Romans 3:19) Sinners cant justify themselves with “good works” (Romans 3:20) The law brings knowledge of Sin Sin is breaking the law (1 John 3:4) The law was our teacher to bring us to Christ (Galatians 3:24)

Making Grace Amazing Grace can be defined as “unmerited favor to the infinitely ill deserving, or Gods riches at Christ Expense

How can we best share God’s grace to sinners? “Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more” (Romans 5:20) The work of God’s law illustrated in civil - Motorist goes 15 mph above the speed limit - Sees no patrolling officers - His not the only one doing it, but……

But…. The law enters the fast lane flashing their red and blue lights. His heart skips a beat since he is PERSONALLY doing. He could be pulled over His 15 mph transgression isn't so small anymore, but it abounds The sinner says in his heart “God has forgotten; He hides His face; He will never see it” (Psalms 10:11)

Freeway of sin Who hasn’t lied?-Leads to bearing false witness Who hasn’t stolen? –Makes you a thief Sin becomes personal Your hatred, will make you a murder (1 John 3:15) Without the Law sin is not personal or evident “For without the law, Sin is dead [The sense of it inactive….] (Romans 7:8 Amplified)

The commandment showed the Apostle Paul sin in its true light– that is “exceedingly sinful” (Romans 7:13) According to scriptures “[The real function of] the law is to make men recognize and be conscious of sin [not mere perception, but an acquaintance with sin which works towards repentance…..] (Romans 3: 20 Amplified) “They will never accept grace, until they tremble before a just and holy law” Charles Spurgeon “For effective evangelism, preach 90 percent law and 10 percent grace” John Wesley
