Jesus Suffering Your Suffering Rom. 5:2-5

“God’s will is not for you to suffer, but you may suffer for doing God’s will.” ~ Phil Drysdale  

Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat. 21 When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”   ~ Mark 3:20-21

We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. 9 Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 10 He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, 11 as you help us by your prayers.   ~ 2 Cor. 1:8-11  

And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.    ~ Romans 5:2b-5

1) Perseverance = Ability to stand up under pressure 1)  Perseverance = Ability to stand up under pressure. Endurance; diligence; patience. Opposite of perseverance = Panic and fear.

2)  Character = Tested, proven, reliable.

3)  HOPE = Confidence in God. Based on maturing, Spirit-encounters. Remembering how God showed up miraculously in your past & trusting He will again because His love for you hasn’t changed.   NOT wishful thinking.
