This workbook consists of four worksheets: Summary (tests) small tests BIG TESTS E X A M

Each worksheet is protected – only selected ranges can be edited. If, for some reason, you want to unprotect any of the worksheets, the password is „maja”.

Using the workbook

STEP 1

Specify the general pass mark (on a scale) – once only – in the first worksheet, i.e. in Summary (tests). This can’t be done in the other worksheets without unprotecting them. The score bands for each grade are adjusted automatically.

STEP 2

In each worksheet, specify: the components the weighting the maximum number of points These two columns are protected (with the exception of the two cells where you type in the weighting). The Total (in %) results from /small tests/ and from /BIG TESTS/ are automatically copied into these columns. That’s why Max (pts) must be 100.

For example:

Hint! If you have three components and want to give them equal weighting, i.e. sth like , type in 100/3 in each cell (or type it in once and copy the cell, e.g. by dragging it to the right).

STEP 3

The students’ names: Type them in only once – in Summary (tests)

STEP 4

The scores:

small tests

BIG TESTS

Summary

Two additional components Anything below the cut score for the component is marked in red Even though it’s above the cut score for the TOTAL, it’s a fail because two components are below their respective cut scores Indicates a fail (useful when you have a long list)
