WASTEWATER COLLECTIONS SYSTEMS HOUSEHOLD GREASE “ FROM THE PAN TO THE CAN ” HELP US HELP YOU

FOG from Restaurants and Residential homes are common causes of sewer backups. What is Household Grease? Household Grease is more commonly referred to as Fats Oils & Grease or F.O.G.

FOG gets into the plumbing drain system and builds up inside our pipes. Eventually, the buildup blocks the entire pipe, causing sewage backups and overflows. FOG from left over food, meat fat, cooking oil, baking ingredients, heavy sauces, and dairy products are released by kitchens without grease interceptors or other grease control measures.

SANITARY SEWER MANHOLE CLOGGED UP WITH FOG. 8” CITY MAIN ALMOST CLOGGED WITH FOG. HOMEOWNERS 4” SERVICE FULL OF FOG.

BY POURING HOUSEHOLD FOG AND WASTE DOWN THE DRAIN YOU WILL EVENTUALLY CLOG YOUR PIPES OR THE CITY SEWER IN YOUR AREA.

CLOGGED PIPES LEAD TO BACK-UPS INTO HOUSES, YARDS AND CREEKS.

HELP US AND YOURSELF BY POURING GREASE INTO A DISPOSABLE CAN AFTER IT HAS COOLED DOWN SOME.

YOU CAN ADD GREASE TO IT UNTIL IT IS ¾ FULL. WHEN COOLED DOWN OR HARDENED IT CAN THEN BE PLACED INTO THE TRASH CAN FOR DISPOSAL.

THIS THREE STEP CAN LID CAN BE USED TO COVER YOUR CAN UNTIL IT IS ¾ FULL OR WHILE THE GREASE HARDENS. IT IS DISHWASHER SAFE & FITS MOST REGULAR SOUP CAN CONTAINERS

THE CITY WILL SUPPLY THESE LIDS TO ANY OF OUR CUSTOMERS WHO WANT AND NEED TO HELP US SOLVE OUR GREASE PROBLEM. JUST CALL FOR AN EXTRA OR REPLACEMENT LID.

THERE ARE OTHER METHODS OUT THERE FOR DISPOSING OF GREASE. THESE FOIL LINED BAGS AND CONTAINER ARE MADE JUST FOR THIS PURPOSE. THE CONTAINER AND REPLACEMENT BAGS CAN BE PURCHASED ONLINE FROM MOST BIG NAMED STORES

ONCE THE GREASE HAS COOLED TO 350 OR LESS, YOU CAN DUMP IT RIGHT INTO THE BAG. WHEN BAG IS ¾ FULL, PITCH IT INTO THE TRASH.

OVEN BAGS USED FOR BAKING CAN ALSO BE USED. PLACE THEM IN ANY CONTAINER, WHEN GREASE COOLS TO 350 DEGREES OR LESS, DUMP IT IN. WHEN IT IS COOLED COMPLETELY, TIE IT AND PITCH IT IN THE TRASH.
