LIFE+ Environmental Policy & Governance project: LIFE09 ENV/GR/ eSYMBIOSIS Introduction Main Objective: To produce a web based platform for Industrial Symbiosis communities, offering automation, supporting SMEs, considering regional priorities and enabling the public administrators (municipalities, regional offices) to implement their environmental policy and to monitor environmental and economic consequences. Project implementation: Greece, UK Project implementation: Greece, UK Project Budget: ,00 € Project Budget: ,00 € Duration: 36 months, Start date: 01/10/ End date: 30/09/2013 Duration: 36 months, Start date: 01/10/ End date: 30/09/2013 EC Funding: € (49,8% of Total Project Budget) EC Funding: € (49,8% of Total Project Budget)
LIFE+ Environmental Policy & Governance project: LIFE09 ENV/GR/ eSYMBIOSIS Action 1: Deliverables & Milestones Start: , End: , Duration: 9 months Activities Activity 1.1: Review regional profile for the target region by evaluating clusters of companies involved and types of data available. Selection of sample cases for validation of the web platform performance (NTUA) SERVICE & USER REQUIREMENTS Deliverables Activity 1.2: Review NISP practices from the viewpoint of waste and solution representation (All beneficiaries) Recording, analysis, assessment of existing practices & operation in terms of IS in the UK and internationally COMPLETED Milestones Completion of requirements specification for the components and the system (service) Date of completion: Activity 1.3: Review NISP practices from the viewpoint of workflows and metrics used (L2E) Activity 1.4: Identification of user requirement and web service functionality (NTUA) Recording, analysis, assessment of industrial clusters in target countries Date of completion: Requirements set for the components, web platform Date of completion:
LIFE+ Environmental Policy & Governance project: LIFE09 ENV/GR/ eSYMBIOSIS Deliverable NTUA Recording, analysis and assessment of industrial clusters in target countries (Viotia Prefecture - Greece)
LIFE+ Environmental Policy & Governance project: LIFE09 ENV/GR/ eSYMBIOSIS Unit 1 Review of the regional profile of Viotia in connection to its industrial activity and the regional priorities – General presentation of Viotia Prefecture
LIFE+ Environmental Policy & Governance project: LIFE09 ENV/GR/ eSYMBIOSIS ATHENS
LIFE+ Environmental Policy & Governance project: LIFE09 ENV/GR/ eSYMBIOSIS General profil of studied region Viotia is one of the fifty-one prefectures of Greece and a heavily industrialized region northern to Attica expanding on an area of square kilometers with a population of approximately residents according to the general census of The region of Viotia lacks up to now any thorough planning and monitoring system for the control of area’s industries with regard to waste management and environmental supervision. A viable and efficient practice to control and mitigate the faults that the current situation gives birth to, is to incorporate industrial waste materials through Industrial Symbiosis (IS) practices.
