Ways Parents Can Help Encourage your child to be serious about the test. Try not to upset the child before the test, such as introducing family conflicts. Make sure your child gets a good nights sleep, at least 8 to 9 hours. Get your child off to a good start with a good breakfast.

Ways Parents Can Help See that your child attends school on the scheduled test days. Make sure your child arrives at school on time and is rested. Do not cause your child unnecessary stress regarding the test. Be positive! Finally, do not send your child to school if true illness is apparent.

Easing Pre-Test Jitters Reassure your child. Put the test in perspective. Take a deep breath. Discuss what to expect. Make sure the child gets rest. Dress in layers.
