On March 5, 2013, the Board of Education took action to postpone the decision to close Tokay Colony Elementary School for one year. On September 17, 2013, the Board of Education asked staff to conduct a survey to determine interest in a technology magnet among the students at Lockeford, Live Oak, Victor, and Tokay Colony Schools. CONSIDERSATIONS Interest results are not significant enough to sustain the school over multiple years. The location of the school presents electrical and infrastructure issues. RECOMMENDATION Place current Tokay Colony students at either Live Oak or Lockeford per their parents’/guardians’ preference beginning with the school year. Establish the attendance boundary for new families. 6
