What C&I OFFERS you …….. Putting your research and innovation into practice During 2011 we had over 70 active research studies going on in various departments. We recruited over 1000 new patients to take part in research. As a result of our staff’s commitment to engage patients in research we were able to produce our results in over 100 publications which are being put into practice both in the UK and internationally. How Local Research Networks help you The development, set up and delivery of randomised controlled trials of interventions (including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care) and other well designed studies. LRNs can help you : Develop new research through Clinical Studies Groups, Task Forces and Writing Groups Develop deliverable studies by providing local input into delivery plans to Chief Investigators Set up studies, including local research governance approvals Identify of suitable NHS sites and recruitment of participants to studies Engage with commercial and non-commercial research funders Active involvement of patients and carers in all parts of the research process (PPI)

Dementias & Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Network (DeNDRoN) Our portfolio includes studies in dementias, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s and Motor Neurone disease, and other neurodegenerative diseases DeNDRoN is made up of seven Local Research Networks, which cover different regions of England. The Network employs more than 200 dedicated trained research support staff operating in over 150 Trusts. We provide researchers with the practical support they need to make clinical studies happen in the NHS, so that more research takes place across England and more patients can take part.

Dementias & Neurodegenerative Diseases Research Network (DeNDRoN) DeNDRoN is part of the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network which supports research to make patients, service users, and the NHS, better. Our Portfolio… Contains a suite of studies covering Alzheimer and non-Alzheimer dementias (47% of total portfolio), Parkinson’s (22%), Huntington’s (10%), motor neurone disease (13%), and other neurodegenerative disorders (10%). We support a wide range of trial designs that are funded by commercial and non-commercial partners.
