Matthew 5:28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. We are inundated with immodest dress, both live and in advertising. We must be careful of our eyes and our lust.

2 Samuel 11:2-4 Then it happened one evening that David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the king's house. And from the roof he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was very beautiful to behold. 3 So David sent and inquired about the woman. And someone said, "Is this not Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite ?" 4 Then David sent messengers, and took her; and she came to him, and he lay with her, for she was cleansed from her impurity; and she returned to her house.

Job 31:1 I have made a covenant with my eyes; Why then should I look upon a young woman? Guard your heart by making a covenant with your eyes not to gaze intently upon a woman.

Proverbs 20:1 Wine is a mocker, Strong drink is a brawler, And whoever is led astray by it is not wise.

Proverbs 23:33-35 Your eyes will see strange things, And your heart will utter perverse things. 34 Yes, you will be like one who lies down in the midst of the sea, Or like one who lies at the top of the mast, saying: 35 “They have struck me, but I was not hurt; They have beaten me, but I did not feel it. When shall I awake, that I may seek another drink?”

Hebrews 12:1-2 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Conclusion Remember, we will not turn our eyes away from gazing upon vain things unless we first stretch out our heart toward the word of God. Colossians 3:5,16
