What have we found? A wish turn into a need ◦ Sharing patient information without any hassle both horizontal and vertically Attempts have been made before but faced several issues ◦Everyone has different needs! (even among GPs) ◦They still needed new systems to improve their processes ◦So everything was custom made A “temporal patch” which were trying to get rid off ◦Because now we’ve got these “information silos”

Why is this important? (and interesting) It is all about improving Patient Care ◦From a simple cold to chronic degenerative diseases. 40+ years dealing with these problems Many bodies is involved: from the WHO to local governments ◦As well as standards organizations: HL7, ISO, ASTM, IHE + national organizations How do we connect all healthcare in a country? ◦How about healthcare worldwide? Countless man-hour have already been invested ◦Directly or indirectly funded by governments (which is your money)
