The sessions included a clinical background to the study and protocol review, an obtaining consent for the study session – with a researchers experience, a potential problems and clinical benefit of the study. The sessions were interactive to allow lots of discussion and recruitment tips. These were well attended and received positive feedback. Thanks for all who attended.

Hospital of North Durham Dr Mukerjee & team at Queens, Burton Dr Husain & team at Musgrove Park Dr Dixit & team at Freeman and Royal Victoria For being the highest recruiters in May and June SOS - Hints and Tips NIHSS Dr Roffe presented an update on the SOS study at the SRN conference in Newcastle on the 8-9 th July During this she discussed the current spread of NIHSS scores recruited into the study. In order to obtain unbiased data she would like to recruit more sever strokes to the study as well as the mild ones. This is an acute stroke trial and Dr Roffe has said “it is important to get a true picture of the use of oxygen treatment for the full range of strokes – from the mild to acute range”.
