County Durham & Darlington Experience In 2011 the NHS 111 service has received over 215,000 calls. Of those calls: 42% of patients were given a booked appointment at their local Urgent Care Centre or directed to their own GP during the in-hour period, 6% of callers were directed to their nearest Accident and Emergency Department 11% resulted in an immediate Ambulance response. Compared with similar demographic areas within the North East over the pilot period County Durham and Darlington can demonstrate an overall 14% reduction in the number of calls received by 999.
