The Location The location is between the mountains and the coastal plain.

The land forms The piedmont hilly rolling land borders the coastal plain. The piedmont extends from Virgina to Alabama.

Climate The northern part of north Carolina piedmont plateau receives the most snow. Averaging about ten inches a year in the north western section. The rest of north Carolina piedmont plateau receives an Average of one of four inches of snow per year.
