In India, Intel Teach Program was launched in February 2000 in the cities of Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. Within a span of nine years, the program has impacted over one million teachers all over India in both In-service and Pre-service segments. The Intel Teach Program is a professional development program that helps classroom teachers effectively integrate technology to enhance student learning. Teachers learn from other teachers how, when and where to incorporate technology into their lesson plans, with a focus on developing students' higher-order thinking skills. As a result of the Intel Teach Program, 89 percent of teachers reported using technology with their students. Moreover, they also experience new approaches to create assessment tools.
