TASK 2 Task 2 For your chosen service provider, produce an information booklet that could be given to a new member of staff, which explains the following:  The range of services provided by the service provider  The range of services outsourced to external agencies  How direct and indirect carers work together to meet the service user’s needs.

The range of services provided by the service provider What does the school provide for the students?  Breakfast/After school clubs  Teacher led lessons  Support assistants/HLTAs to support individuals/ groups  Class arrangements  Activites at break and lunch  SATs support  Reading support  Sets for learning  ICT access  Library access TASK 2

The range of services outsourced to external agencies Think about all the services they bring from outside the school to support their students.  Learning Support Services  Behaviour Support Services  Social Care/Services  PE Sports Clubs – Liaison with Winterhill Secondary for PE specialist provision and tournaments;  Clubs after school provided by external agencies  Cleaning and Catering  MIND – Counselling opportunities  Liaison with other schools in the LC TASK 2

The range of services outsourced to external agencies THINK!! What clubs did you do when you were at school that weren’t run by teachers? What do schools in WLC do for each other? Develop your ideas. TASK 2

How direct and indirect carers work together to meet the service user’s needs. Reminder What is direct care? Examples in primary – teachers, teaching assistants, headteacher, catering supervisors, first aider, external support assistants, play leaders, breakfast/after school leaders What is indirect care? Examples in primary – secretaries, office staff, cleaners, caterers, governors Why is it important that all these people work together for the good of the students? How do they do this? TASK 2

FOCUS FOR THIS WEEK on PLACEMENT – Task 2  What does the school provide for its students?  What activities are there before during and after school in free time?  Develop a list of people/services that work in/with the school?  What Iinks does the school have outside?  How do workers work together for the benefit of the child? By the end of this week, you should have used lesson time and homework to gather information for this section and be prepared to show it next week. TASK 1
