People of the Middle Ages When you here people says middle ages you may think of kings and queens and even knights, but there are a lot more people than that, like serfs. They were the farmers of the Middle Ages. Serfs weren’t very rich. They grew just enough food to feed his\her family. Serfs had certain rights. They weren’t free people. Another person was a jester. Jester was a fancy name for fool or clown. The entertained the Kings and Queens. Jester acted really silly. They would dress up and everything!

Protect your Castle When somebody is build a castle they have to know were and how to build it. Most castles are built up on a mountain. Yes they are very easy to see, but they are very hard to get to. Building a castle up on a mountain is smart. It is hard to climb up a mountain with a whole army and their weapons. The people inside would also hear and see them form up that high.

Knights You probably know who the knights of the Middle ages were. There are also things you probably didn’t know. Knights wore armor called chain mail. Chain mail were little rings of metal. Later in the middle ages they invented playing cards.

The Feudal System The feudal system was a system used to tell how rich someone was. The king was on top of the feudal system with the queen. A serf was on the bottom. The blacksmith was not poor, but he was not rich. A monk was not as rich as the king, but he was wealthy. Jesters were in the middle of the feudal system. In the middle ages you didn’t want to be villein. They were at the bottom!!!!
