The Oregon Trail By: Amy

What is the Oregon Trail? The Oregon trail was popular in the 1800s to the 1850s.

Why were people traveling the Oregon Trail? People traveled the Oregon Trail to Oregon because of free land. Some traveled the Oregon Trail because of slavery. Some people weren’t going to Oregon—some were going to Canada, lured by the tales of gold in the hills and better health in the warm climate.
