SPORT In Latvia are professional ice hockey, basketball and football leagues. Latvia takes a part in Olympic Games. Since 1992 year the Latvians have won 17 medals. The most popular sportsmen are: Maris Stromberg (BMX) Martins Dukurs (skeletonist) Jelena Propokcuka (runner) Ernests Gulbis (tennis). At this moment the best ice hokey team in Latvia is “Dinamo Riga”. The hockey in Latvia is played since 1920 s. Latvia has taken a part in many world championships.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT LATVIA The coolest gadget of 20th century, the spy photocam Minox was invented in Latvia.
