DCPR FREQUENCY PLANS DCS MANUFACTURERS MEETING NOVEMBER 10, 2004 Peter Woolner Mitretek Systems

2 Possible Frequency Plans Two possibilities were presented at the Manufacturers meeting in Seattle a.Keep all existing carrier frequencies and add new ones halfway between each of the current frequencies b.Split each existing channel in half and have the new carrier frequencies offset ±1/4 of the old channel width I can think of no other useful variation I can think of no other useful variation

6 Plan Comparison All plan 1 channel center frequencies are multiples of 250 Hz but plan 2 center frequencies are multiples of 125 Hz This affects phase stability and interference Most plan 1 frequencies are the same as the existing channels (both 300 and 1200) All existing DCPRS synthesizers could tune to most plan 1 frequencies but to none of the plan 2 frequencies RECOMMENDATION: USE PLAN 1
