TRANSFORMATION BY JESUS

Over the last few weeks we have studied the lives of people who were transformed by Jesus.

Peter-from instability to consistency

the demoniac-from spiritual bondage to spiritual freedom

the paralytic-from sickness to health

the sinful woman from sinfulness to forgiveness

John-from the son of thunder to the apostle of love

We have really talked a lot about transformation by Jesus.

JUST DO IT!

Jesus is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God, so how does that work for us today?

John 14:16-17, 26 “I will ask the Father, and he will send another Companion, who will be with you forever.

This Companion is the Spirit of Truth, whom the world can't receive because it neither sees him nor recognizes him. You know

him, because he lives with you and will be with you. The Companion, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach

you everything and will remind you of everything I told you.”

John 15:26-27 “When the Companion comes, whom I will send from the Father— the Spirit of Truth who proceeds from the

Father—he will testify about me. You will testify too, because you have been with me from the beginning.”

John 16:13-14 “However, when the Spirit of Truth comes, he will guide you in all truth. He won't speak on his own, but will say

whatever he hears and will proclaim to you what is to come. He will glorify me, because he will take what is mine and proclaim it to you.”

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received

from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

I don’t think that any of the followers of Christ here today would deny the existence of the Spirit, because you know that He is spoken about throughout the Bible.

But on the other hand many of you live your lives as though He does not exist, because you are more comfortable with that.

Here is the question of the day: “When was the last time I undeniably saw the Spirit at work in or around me?”

Francis Chan in “Forgotten God” lists three characteristics of the lives of people who the Spirit is active in:

1)They are desperate for Him.

2) They have humbled themselves before Him.

3) They are not distracted by their pursuit of wealth or comforts.

it all comes down to trust.

If you trust Him, then the journey can begin. JUST DO IT!

It will require you to trust the Spirit’s leadership EVERY DAY for the rest of your life. JUST DO IT!

If you do trust Him, then you put Him in a position to make your life a beautiful one that will fulfill you in every way!

Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self- control. There is no law against things like this.”

Don’t run FROM the Spirit.

Run TO the Spirit daily and begin to see Him transform your life into the likeness of Jesus.

JUST DO IT!
