Patients must be over 18 years Patient must NOT be under the care of an NHS Trust ophthalmologist for any other active ocular condition Patients must be registered with a GP practice in the Scarborough & Ryedale CCG area. Lisa Barker Feb Patient Eligibility

Lisa Barker October Constitutional Right to Choice ?

Lisa Barker Feb Do patients have a choice of provider? Under the NHS constitution: Patients have the right to choose the hospital that they are referred to. This legal right lets them choose from any hospital offering a suitable treatment that meets NHS standards and costs.

Lisa Barker Feb How can you offer choice ? Use the patient information leaflet to look at other providers. Use NHS choices website to make an informed decision. Utilise Optomanager to refer to the hospital of choice. Scarborough & York Trust are currently experiencing some capacity issues, and this will lead to a delay in surgery, however patients can still be referred into the services.
