Last Year We Paid…

Savings Expectations  Energy Education, Inc. projects a savings of 1.1 million dollars in our first year of the program.  They project a savings of between 13 to 15 million over the next ten years!

Energy Education  LCPS has engaged in a five-year partnership with Energy Education, Inc.  EEI has over 1,000 other clients, including public schools, major universities, and mega-churches.  EEI has helped its clients save over 2 billion dollars in energy bills.  EEI has been an Energy Star Partner of the Year for the past two years.

Program Objectives  Emphasis on changing people’s habits rather than purchasing new equipment.  Maintaining comfort; however, ensuring everything is off when not being used.  Optimizing the efficiency of our energy systems. (Getting the most for our money!)

Hourly Cost of HVAC Option 1 - LCPS Actual Utility Information 2009 Budget$4,000,000 HVAC Costs represent approximately 60% of Budget 60% $2,400,000 Operational HoursOccupied HoursTotal Hours School Year15 Hrs/Day * 180 Days2700 Summer12 Hrs/Day * 60 Days720 Total 3420 Approximate Average HVAC Hourly Cost $2,400,000/3420 Hr~ $700/Hr

One Small Change… Current TOD Schedules6:00 am - 9:00 pmM - F Proposed Schedule Reduction 6:00 am - 6:00 pmM - F Potential Savings 3 hours/day * 180 days * $700/hour = $378,000 …leads to big dollars!

Audit Form  Each time we are at your school, we will leave a report of our findings and/or recommendations for further savings.  What is meaningful to you? Let us know!
