A J. Wallace James S.T.A.R. is someone who follows the rules in the hallway walks with a purpose and does not disturb others so that learning can take place. While in the hallway, students should be quiet, walk facing forward, keep up with their class, and keep hands, feet, and objects to themselves.

Examples of Being Safe in the Hallway Stay to the right Walk facing forward Walk one behind the other Keep hands, feet and objects to self

Non-examples of Safe in the Hallways Walking on the opposite side of hallway Turning around, jumping, or playing in line Playing with peers or objects such as pencils or pens

Examples of Thoughtful in the Hallways Smile when you see others Allow adults to pass in front of you Hold the door Wave quietly

Non-examples of Thoughtful in the Hallways Yelling out when you see others Allowing the door to close on someone

Examples of Respectful in the Hallway Be quiet Respect displayed work Follow dress code (shirts tucked) Choose a positive attitude
