Art of Southeast Asia Dear Dr. Lensington: In this prison they had a whole lot of strict rules. Prisoners with small cells were shackled to the concrete or floor, prisoners with large cells were shackled to the bars. They had to sleep on the floor with no mats, blankets, or mosquito nets. They couldn’t talk to each other. If they disobeyed they’re rules they would be beaten severely. Sometimes they were forced to drink human urine and human feces. They would check to see if they had anything to commit suicide with. Seven people committed suicide. Out of 20,000 people only 12 survived. Those are some of the prisoner’s in the picture.
